I kept saying for months that I’d try having a ‘monthly wrap-up’ of what I read. So this is it, I’m finally doing something about it. Ok I admit I cheated a little because I read the 1st Hunger Games at the end of August. *whispers* But shhhhht it’ll be our dirty secret!
- The Hunger Games – Suzanne Collins 5 Stars
- Catching Fire – Suzanne Collins 5 stars
- Mockingjay – Suzanne Collins 5 Stars
- The Darkly Luminous Fight for Persephone Parker – Leanna R. Hieber 4 Stars
- Butterfly Swords – Jeannie Lin 4 1/2 Stars
- Scoundrel – Zoe Archer 5 Stars
I devoured the Hunger Game trilogy. I didn’t think I could love a YA series like that. Truth be told, it didn’t feel like YA at all. When I finished the last book, I wasn’t feeling great. Those are very violent books and it took a toll on my optimism lol. I had a hard time picking up another book after that series. I can’t recommend this series enough though. You just can’t put them down.
Scoundrel is a very hot historical romance, packed with adventures. I really loved reading it. My review will be up on Monday on Book Lovers,Inc.
I didn’ t read much this month. I’m hoping I’ll get more time in October to read. It’s not like my TBR shelves aren’t exploding already! Ah! yeah…about that, lol I should stop buying books!!! <===not gonna happen Mouhahahahah
So what was your favorite read in September??

I have to read Scoundrel!:)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite read of September? The Body at the Tower by Y.S.Lee. I was so looking forward to it.
Do you think maybe there's a rehab center for people who can't stop buying books? I think..I think I need help too... xD
@Jen oh I've heard about The Body at the Tower, it has great reviews. =)
ReplyDeleteYou will love Scoundrel! Have you read Warrior, the first in the series? It was great too. But Scoundrel was even better! *g*
LOL I think a rehab center for Book Buyer Anonymous would be needed for us. ;) MOuahahah but it's so great to get new shiny pretties!! =D
Ohhhh I really am tempter by teh Hunger Games book but I will wait till I can afford the last 2 books and I have the time to read it. O_o

@Sabrina Wooot You won't regret it =) And The Hunger Games is just fantastic. (I know I know I'm rambling. lol that's my old age)
ReplyDeleteOh, Scoundrel is the second one in a series...didn't know that! Is this series a follow up, or are the books independent?
ReplyDeleteTell me about it...when I get new books I even have a problem putting them up in the shelf at first...I just want to hold on to them for as long as it is possible, and smell the sweet perfume of new paper xD ahaha *crazy person*
@Jenn Yep the first one is Warrior. But you can read Scoundrel as a stand-alone I think. There's only mentions of the other characters, but it's the same world. =)
ReplyDeleteLMAO not so crazy....huh or I'm crazy too! When I get a book, it doesn't go straight to the shelves either...I keep it on my bed a few days. LOL to let it acclimate itself to his new home Bwhahahaha ok it's really coz i just love to pet them. Crazy we are *g*
*happy that she's not alone in her craziness!xD*
ReplyDeleteSo you can see how easily I can be persuaded: I just bought Warrior on Book Depo, it was 42% off! xD I'll just start with this one, and read Scoundrel afterwards :)
@Jen Teehee! I am easily persuaded too, unfortunately! You won't regret it, Gabriel is a very sexy hero. And you've seen the cover...very Indiana Jones ;)
